Tapestry Session
Brama (BGM) and Lana Pranaya present Tapestry Session, combining their practice and knowledge of tattooing and music to inspire and evoke memories related to various aspects. In this first session, BGM and Lana reflected on Ayash's (as client) musical memories, including her fondness for the composition and sound design of Shinichiro Yokota (The Far East Records). Instead of following the conventional process where the client provides a brief for a tattoo, Brama and Lana took a different approach by delving into Ayash's personal history and memories related to her sensory experiences.

Based on the reflections they encountered in the process, Lana interpreted them through the sonic medium of the mixtape, while Brama translated them through visual images as tattoo designs. Both presented their respective observations simultaneously in a slick collaboration that was recorded onto a 7-inch vinyl disc format to freeze the momentum and process of the live collaboration.

This was an intimate experience where memories of the past, present and future were recreated through multi-instrument experimentation and presented from and for the client as a way to beyond memory.
